Performing a Normal (Soft) Reset on a HP iPAQ Voice Messenger
A normal reset is sometimes referred to as a soft reset or a limited reset. A normal reset stops all running applications but does not erase any programs or saved data.
Caution be sure to save any unsaved data before performing a normal reset since a normal reset erases all unsaved data.
- Turn off the device.
- Remove the battery.
- Reinsert the battery.
- Turn on the device.
Performing a Hard Reset (Full Reset / Factory Reset) on a HP iPAQ Voice Messenger
A full reset is sometimes referred to as a hard reset or factory reset. Perform a full reset when you want to clear all settings, programs and data from RAM. A full reset deactivates the battery the power button does not function until the battery is reactivated.
Caution if you perform a full reset, your HP iPAQ Voice Messenger smart phone returns to its default settings and looses all information that is not recorded in ROM.
There are two ways to perform a factory or a hard reset on the iPAQ Voice Messenger.
- Press and hold the number 6 key and turn on your HP iPAQ. Continue to hold the number 6 key until the reset message appears on screen.
Or
- Press Start > Settings > Security > Restore Factory Settings . Select Yes on the Restore Factory Settings screen and press Done .
- Press Reset on the confirmation screen. Your device will restart. The device resets and powers on.
