Performing a Normal (Soft) Reset on a Dell Streak Mini 5
A normal reset is sometimes referred to as a soft reset. A normal reset stops all running applications but does not erase any programs or saved data.
Caution be sure to save any unsaved data before performing a normal reset since a normal reset erases all unsaved data.
- Turn off the Dell Streak Mini 5.
- Remove the battery, then wait for 10 seconds.
- Insert the battery again.
- Turn it back on, and wait for the Dell Mini 5 to reboot.
Performing a Hard Reset on a Dell Streak Mini 5
A full reset is sometimes referred to as a hard reset. Perform a full reset when you want to clear all settings, programs and data from RAM.
Caution if you perform a full reset, your Dell Streak Mini 5 returns to its default settings and looses all information that is not recorded in ROM.
- Make sure the Dell Streak Mini 5 is powered off, then press and hold ‘Volume Up and Volume Down’ buttons.
- Next press and hold the ‘Power’ button to turn the Steak Mini 5 on.
- Eventually the Mini 5 will display the configuration screen use the 'Volume Down' button to select the ‘Factory Reset’ option.
- Press and release the ‘Camera’ button to confirm hard reset / factory reset of the Dell Streak Mini 5.
- Wait for the Mini 5 to reboot.
