Performing a Hard Reset on a Dell Aero

A full reset is sometimes referred to as a hard reset. Perform a full reset when you want to clear all settings, programs and data from RAM (Random Access Memory).

Caution if you perform a full reset, your Dell Streak returns to its default settings and looses all information that is not recorded in ROM (Read Only Memory).

To perform a Master Clear (hard reset):

  1. In the "Settings" Menu, tap "Master clear & reset" then "Master clear"
  2. Enter the Master Reset Password (the default is 1234)
  3. Finally tap OK to complete the hard reset.

To perform a Master Reset (only restores user settings):

  1. In the "Settings" Menu, tap "Master clear & reset" then "Master reset"
  2. Enter the Master Reset Password (the default is 1234)
  3. Finally tap OK to complete the hard reset.

To change the Factory Password go into the "Settings" Menu and tap "Security" then "Change factory password".

To restore the Factory Password go into the "Settings" Menu and tap "Security" then "Restore factory password".
